| Description | This recombinant Bundibugyo ebolavirus envelope glycoprotein, expressed in mammalian cells, corresponds to amino acids 33–304 of the GP1 subunit encoded by the viral GP gene. GP1 forms the receptor-binding component of the mature viral glycoprotein complex and is responsible for mediating interactions with host cells during the initial stages of viral entry. The expressed region contains receptor-binding determinants and several conserved antigenic sites involved in host-cell recognition and immune responses. Expression in mammalian cells supports native protein folding and post-translational modifications that more closely resemble those of the viral glycoprotein. This recombinant protein may be used for serological assays, antibody screening, epitope mapping, monoclonal antibody development, vaccine and immunogenicity studies, receptor-binding studies, and structural and functional characterization of Ebolavirus glycoproteins |
