| Description | This recombinant Bundibugyo ebolavirus soluble secreted glycoprotein (sGP), expressed in mammalian cells, corresponds to amino acids 33–324 of the viral sGP precursor encoded by the GP gene. sGP is the major secreted product of Ebolavirus-infected cells and shares an identical N-terminal region with the envelope glycoprotein GP1. It has been implicated in modulation of host immune responses and has been proposed to contribute to viral pathogenesis through interactions with host factors and antibody responses. Expression in mammalian cells supports proper protein folding and post-translational modifications that more closely resemble those of the native viral glycoprotein. This recombinant protein may be used for serological assays, antibody screening, epitope mapping, monoclonal antibody development, vaccine and immunogenicity studies and structural and functional characterization of Ebolavirus glycoproteins |
